Common questions

How do I finish a level?

Stay alive until the clock reaches zero. That is the whole task — there is nothing you have to collect first. What you gather along the way decides your reward, not whether you passed.

The next level is locked. Why?

The next kitchen costs 5 diamonds. You get one diamond for every star at the end of a level, and one for each diamond you pick up off the floor during play. If you are short, replay a level you have already survived — or buy diamonds with coins, though that is deliberately expensive.

Where do diamonds come from?

One drops somewhere on the floor every minute of play, at a different moment each run, and it only stays for a few seconds. A banner appears under the top bar with a countdown and an arrow pointing at it. You also earn one diamond per star when the level ends.

How do I get coins?

Every laddu pays 10 coins the moment you touch it, and a golden one pays 45 — the rate never changes. Surviving a level pays a bonus, and you can watch an optional rewarded ad from the home screen or the shop. There is nothing to buy with real money in this game.

How does milk work?

Every six laddus fills a jug, and two jugs per level are free. Pour one and the closest cat walks over, drinks it, then leaves the kitchen for a while. On the level with two cats, the other one keeps hunting. After the two free jugs, more can be bought with coins.

What are the shop items?

Three, bought with diamonds and used whenever you like by tapping them on the right edge of the screen: sleep spray drops the nearest cat where it stands for 20 seconds, a speed boost makes you half again as fast for 30 seconds, and a shield means no cat can take you for 30 seconds. Very rarely one is lying on the kitchen floor instead.

Why are the mouse holes boarded up on levels 9 and 10?

Because the cat brings her kitten on those levels, and a kitten fits down a mouse hole. Rather than let you hide and be caught anyway, the holes are shut and shown shut. Keep moving instead.

There is a snake on level 7

There is. It comes up out of a mouse hole and it is not hunting you — it drifts around with no plan and only strikes at what strays close, then forgets you when you break away. You can always outrun it. The cats will not go near it, so it can be used as cover.

An ad did not load

Rewarded and restart ads need a connection, and the ad network does not always have one ready. Nothing is lost when that happens: the game says so and lets you carry on or restart the level yourself.

I got caught. Can I carry on?

Yes, two ways. Watching a rewarded ad puts you back in the same run, and so does paying 200 coins — both keep your laddu count, coins, diamonds and clock exactly as they were, and every cat is sent out of the kitchen for a few seconds so you are not caught again immediately. The coin option is always there, so being caught is never a dead end.

The ad button says there is nothing to show

That is a service still being switched on, not a fault in the game. Reward ads only start serving once the ad network has finished approving a new game, and until then there is genuinely nothing to play. The buttons will begin working on their own — nothing needs reinstalling or updating.

Nothing in the game is locked behind an ad in the meantime. Coins come from play: every laddu pays 10 and a golden one pays 45. Reviving, milk, diamonds and extra time can all be paid for with coins.

The clock ran out on a good run. Can I keep going?

Once per run, yes — the level-complete screen offers +1 minute for coins, which puts you straight back in the same kitchen with another diamond due.

How do I reset my progress?

Home screen → New Game. It clears level progress and stars, and keeps your coins, diamonds and shop items. To wipe absolutely everything, use Android’s Settings → Apps → Mouse vs Cat → Storage → Clear data, or just uninstall.

Does the game work offline?

The game itself does, completely. Only the optional ads need a connection.

Can I turn the sound or vibration off?

The SOUND toggle on the home screen switches both the sound effects and the haptic buzzes off.

Reporting a bug

Screenshots help a lot, especially for anything visual. If a cat gets stuck, or a level feels impossible, tell us the level number and what you were doing — that is usually enough for us to reproduce it.
